Ensure ecologically sustainable fishing activities are managed in a way that is maintained in perpetuity.
Identify critical habitats for the conservation of living marine resources
Undertake research on mariculture with the view to supplement or replace capture reef fisheries and help to establish a mariculture industry in the Maldives.
Assist MOFAMR and relevant ministries and agencies by providing expert knowledge for the development and refinement of national marine resources policies.
